Ohio City Directories before 1850

I've blogged before about the Morgan Bibliography of Ohio Imprints, but their ongoing project of indexing all 16 city directories from the five Ohio cities that published before 1850 -- Cleveland, Cincinnati, Columbus, Dayton, and Steubenville -- deserves its own mention. These are indexes, not images. The unique advantage here is that you can search across all directories.

    Thank you for the continuing mention of my Morgan Library of Ohio Imprints and the Morgan Index of Ohio Persons, Businesses and Institutions, the later which includes the names in Ohio City Directories which you specifically mentioned.

    I wanted to point out that one can search all the names at one time by going to the main Ohio Name Index on OhioLINK. The address is: http://morgan.ohiolink.edu/mgohio/Login

    There are Help pages which guide the user to the many serches which can be accomplished.
